Mexico

I’ve been to Mexico more than 10 times, across 10+ different destinations. If you’re analyzing my travel patterns purely based on frequency, the data clearly suggests Mexico is my favorite country. I’m not against that statement.

My Mexico Travel Tips

  • Fly budget airlines. I flew from Los Angeles to Guadalajara for $60 on Viva Aerobus.
  • Check flights out of Tijuana. If you’re in Southern California, flights from Tijuana’s airport to other Mexican cities are often much cheaper than flying from the U.S.
  • Get SENTRI if you drive across the border. Our wait coming back from Valle de Guadalupe was eight hours. SENTRI’s dedicated lanes skip most of that line.
  • Visit a pharmacy. Skincare and many everyday medications cost a fraction of U.S. prices. Do your research and know your comfort zone before buying.
  • Compare tour prices in person. In Puerto Vallarta I booked my ATV tour in person for less than the online price.
